Volunteer

We are very excited to be serving in our community with the City of Aurora, helping refugees and immigrants learn English.

Our “English Corner” has four levels of English Classes:  Basic, Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced. In addition, we offer a Citizenship Class.

Classes are held every Tuesday evening at 7pm, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints – 950 Laredo St, Aurora, CO 80011.

Volunteer Teachers are placed on teams of 8-10 people and are assigned a specific class level to teach. A Team Leader oversees their group and makes sure teachers are in place each week for classes. Having teams allows us to share the teaching opportunities.  The curriculum will be provided for you, by your team leader, ahead of time so you may prepare for class.

We are asking for a commitment of one Tuesday evening per month unless you wish to teach more often.

We will have two teachers assigned in each classroom, to support one another in teaching and interacting with our students.

We hope you will find this experience rewarding and uplifting as you serve wonderful people from around the world who have come seeking help to learn or improve their English so they can provide a better and safer life for their families.

If you would like to become a Volunteer Teacher please fill in the information below and hit submit.

We will be quick to respond and are delighted to welcome you as a new member of our English Corner Team!
